BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a methodology that allows the creation of digital design simulations, coordinating the management of all the information involved in an architectural project.
This data system allows information to be managed intelligently throughout the entire life cycle of a project, automating processes of programming, conceptual design, detailed design, analysis, documentation, fabrication, construction logistics, operation and maintenance, renovation and/or demolition.
Projects modelled in BIM can include the actual products and materials that will be used to build them, incorporating their geometry, features, cost and contact information for procurement once approved.
BIM allows architects, clients, builders, engineers and other relevant stakeholders to work together in a single, intelligent, shared process.
